Under Article 55 of the Fair Employment and Treatment (NI) Order 1998 all companies registered with the Equality Commission are required to complete a review of their employment composition and practices once every three years. The purpose of the review is to determine whether or not employers need to take action to ensure that Protestants and Roman Catholics are receiving and are likely to continue to receive fair participation in employment in their business Employers are legally required to consider to the Fair Employment Code of Practice when carrying out their Article 55 Review.
