Psychometric Testing

thinkpeople are the sole distributors of DiSC® in Northern Ireland. DiSC is used worldwide, with over 40million users in dozens of training and coaching applications, including organisational development and performance improvement.

What is DiSC?
DiSC is a psychometric testing tool which measures the different styles of personality that can be found in all organisations. All personality styles can be found in combinations of the four styles of DiSC. The following gives a high level view of the four main styles:


  • Dominance: Direct and Decisive. Ds are strong willed, strong minded people who like accepting challenges, taking action and getting immediate results
  • Influence: Optimistic and Outgoing. Is are ‘people people’ who like participating on teams, sharing ideas, and energising and entertaining others
  • Steadiness: Sympathetic and Cooperative. Ss are helpful people who like working behind the scenes, performing in consistent and predictable ways, and being good listeners
  • Conscientiousness: Concerned and Correct. Cs are sticklers for quality and like planning ahead, employing systematic approaches, and checking and re-checking for accuracy


What are the benefits of using DiSC?

How does it work?

DiSC can be taken either online or on paper version and measures which of the four personality styles of DiSC most reflect an individual’s preferred style. This facilitates employees self awareness, understanding of strengths and areas for development and how their style impacts on and is received by others, particularly of a different style. The organisation is also assisted in understanding these things about employees for development purposes.

DiSC is also a powerful tool for assessing teams, team dynamics, potential sources of conflict and therefore facilitating introduction of ways of developing high performance, cohesive teams.
