You will be placed on a 12 to 24 month development programme designed to build your HR knowledge, fast tracking growth of your technical, consultancy and personal skills. The ability to work in a fast paced environment while ensuring the highest quality and customer experience while ensuring achievement of your objectives is key.

You will provide support to our senior consultants and customers in person, over the telephone and via email. The ongoing opportunities to develop within the role and across the business are superb. The ideal candidate will be a HR, Business or law graduate, ideally with 1 years’ work experience gained in a professional services environment. Previous experience in a HR, Talent Development or OD role would be an advantage.

Role overview

The ideal trainee HR Consultant will ideally possess some knowledge of human resource management and employment law, and will equally be eager to learn new skills and challenge their existing approaches to delivering results. You will be a strategic thinker, problem solver and will have excellent communication skills with a record of taking ownership to manage projects to their conclusion.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Delivery of the highest quality HR/ER support and advice to Think People’s clients across the breadth of operational HR functions
    Lead existing and new client relationships
  • Retention of current clients through exceptional service, expert advice and support
  • Design, development and implementation of policies, procedures and processes that provide up to date and best practice foundations for day to day people management
  • Provision of onsite support to clients on a full range of HR functions including disciplinary, grievances and other employee related issues
  • Advise and provide hands on support in respect to organisational reviews, reorganisations and redundancy programme implementation
  • Advise, design and support recruitment and selection processes relevant to client needs
  • Bring new thinking to organisations to allow the development of their HR function, support best practice, develop successful leaders and add value
  • Build long term, lasting relationships to become a trusted advisor, supporting clients through challenges and opportunities
  • Business development, including involvement in commercial activities to develop and market our services to new and existing clients

Applicant Overview

Essential

  • 3rd level education in a HR, Business or Law or other related subject or other relevant qualification
  • Evidence of delivering projects and or customer support experience
  • A driving license with ability to travel to client sites across NI, RoI and UK when necessary

Desirable

  • Experience in a consultancy or similar environment
  • Awareness of HR practices and employment law
